BayArea Compliance Joins ReMA: Advancing Environmental Impact Beyond Compliance

As part of our ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility and circular solutions,

BayArea Compliance (BAC) is proud to announce our official membership with the Recycled Materials Association (ReMA).

This milestone marks a strategic expansion of our mission—going beyond traditional healthcare compliance and stepping further into the growing world of sustainable materials management.

We were honored to attend the 2025 ReMA Annual Convention in San Diego, where thousands of professionals across recycling, manufacturing, and environmental stewardship gathered to discuss the future of recycled materials, innovation, and climate-forward policy.

Why This Matters

Joining ReMA allows BAC to strengthen its role in promoting a closed-loop materials economy—particularly within the high-waste sectors we serve, including biotech, medical, dental, and laboratory industries. As a compliance leader managing over 158,000 lbs of plastic waste in the past five months alone, we recognize that regulatory adherence must go hand-in-hand with sustainable recovery.

ReMA, formerly known as ISRI, represents more than 1,600 companies involved in recycling and materials recovery—from plastics and textiles to metals and glass. Their work supports legislation, infrastructure, and innovation that keep recycled materials flowing back into productive use. Our partnership enhances our access to best practices, industry standards, and new opportunities for landfill diversion.

The BAC Approach to Materials & Waste

Through our NETZEROI360 program, BAC works with organizations to:

  • Improve regulated waste segregation

  • Divert medical plastics, PPE, and textiles from landfill

  • Introduce site-based sustainability solutions

  • Connect clients with downstream recycling partners

  • Provide ESG-aligned reporting on waste metrics

By joining ReMA, we now expand this effort with:

  • Greater exposure to vetted recyclers and processors

  • Shared industry intelligence on packaging and reuse

  • Stronger support for client sustainability initiatives

Seen at the Conference

Our team was energized by the shared goals and dynamic conversations at the ReMA convention. From textile recycling innovators to policymakers advancing extended producer responsibility (EPR), the event affirmed that sustainability is not a side goal—it’s essential business practice.

We had meaningful conversations at Booth 234, shared our NETZERO360 impact, and connected with potential partners in the manufacturing, lab recycling, and environmental compliance space.

What This Means for Our Clients

For our healthcare and biotech partners, BAC’s ReMA membership means access to:

  • More transparent waste processing chains

  • Innovative solutions for reducing single-use plastics

  • Strategic support in meeting ESG and compliance goals

Whether you’re a compliance officer, sustainability lead, or supply chain manager—this partnership unlocks smarter, more scalable ways to align safety and sustainability.
