For 12+ years, Lisa Puckett worked on the inside of the nation’s largest medical waste company, watching the national chains overcharge, underserve, and lock small practices into predatory contracts. Then she left to fix it. She founded BayArea Compliance to turn compliance from a dreaded line item into a real competitive advantage for the facilities everyone else overlooks.

In just over 20 years across environment, health, safety, and sustainability, she has served 10,000+ facilities across 44 states and built the COMPLIANCE|360 and NETZERO|360 programs that put that experience to work for California practices. In a single five-month stretch, her team recovered 158,000+ pounds of plastic, every stream hand-sorted, processed locally within 50 miles, and verified through transparent reporting. No landfill. In 2025, the National Recycling Coalition named her Recycler of the Year, choosing her from more than 60 nominations, the most in the organization’s history. That same year the industry elected her Vice Director of SWANA’s Communication, Education & Marketing Division and seated her on the NRC Board of Directors.
