Getting Started
General Questions
Learn about BAC, what we do, who we serve, and how quickly you can get started.
COMPLIANCE|360 is our flagship all-in-one compliance package that includes medical waste disposal, sharps management, annual OSHA and HIPAA training, compliance audits, and access to our NETZERO|360 sustainability dashboard, all for $360/month with no long-term contract required.
Unlike Stericycle, BAC offers transparent pricing with no hidden fees, bundled compliance services (not just waste pickup), a dedicated local team that answers the phone, and sustainability reporting through NETZERO|360. Most facilities save 20-40% by switching.
BAC runs direct medical waste routes across the Bay Area and Northern California as a CDPH-permitted transporter, with same-day response from our Fairfield headquarters. Compliance consulting and training are available nationwide, and for disposal outside California we coordinate vetted local partners under our quality standards.
We serve medical offices, dental practices, veterinary clinics, biotech labs, cannabis dispensaries, pharmaceutical companies, automotive shops, and any facility that generates regulated waste or needs compliance support.
Yes. We provide annual OSHA training, HIPAA certification, bloodborne pathogen training, DOT hazmat training, and CPR/First Aid classes. All certifications are tracked through your NETZERO|360 dashboard.
Most facilities are fully onboarded within 5-7 business days. This includes a compliance assessment, waste stream evaluation, container placement, and staff training scheduling. Emergency services are available for urgent situations.
Pricing & Billing
Pricing & Billing
Transparent pricing, no hidden fees, and no long-term contracts. Here's how it works.
The $360/month covers scheduled medical waste pickup, sharps container management and replacement, annual OSHA and HIPAA training for your staff, a compliance audit, manifest tracking, and full access to the NETZERO|360 dashboard for sustainability reporting. There are no hidden surcharges for fuel, containers, or regulatory fees.
No setup fees and no long-term contracts. COMPLIANCE|360 is month-to-month. We earn your business every cycle rather than locking you in, most clients who leave a national provider with contract headaches appreciate this approach.
We review your current waste invoices line by line to identify hidden fees, unnecessary pickups, and overcharges. Most facilities switching from a national provider are overpaying by 20-40%. The assessment is free and takes about 15 minutes of your time.
We offer standalone medical waste pickup starting well below the bundle price. That said, most facilities find the COMPLIANCE|360 bundle is the better value because training and audits are required anyway, bundling them saves money compared to sourcing each service separately.
Waste Management
Waste Types & Handling
From sharps and biohazard bags to pharmaceutical destruction, what we handle and how to stay compliant.
We handle biohazardous/medical waste, sharps, pharmaceutical waste, chemotherapy waste, pathological waste, and trace-chemo materials. We also manage hazardous waste streams for automotive and industrial facilities, including used oil, solvents, and universal waste (batteries, fluorescent lamps, e-waste).
Red bags for biohazardous waste, FDA-cleared sharps containers for needles and blades, black containers for RCRA hazardous waste, and yellow containers for trace chemotherapy items. During onboarding we label every container and train your staff on proper segregation, it is the single biggest factor in avoiding fines.
Improperly segregated waste can trigger Cal/OSHA citations and force the entire load to be treated as the most hazardous component, drastically increasing disposal costs. If our driver finds contamination during pickup, we document it and work with your team to fix the process, we would rather train than penalize.
Yes. We provide reverse distribution and witnessed destruction for non-controlled pharmaceuticals and DEA-controlled substances (Schedules II-V). All destruction is documented with certificates of destruction for your records, satisfying DEA 21 CFR 1317 requirements.
Regulations
Regulations & Compliance
OSHA inspections, Cal/OSHA differences, training frequency, and current fine amounts.
An OSHA compliance officer will review your Injury and Illness Prevention Program, training records, sharps logs, exposure control plan, and physical workspace. With COMPLIANCE|360, all of these documents are current and audit-ready in your NETZERO|360 dashboard, we can also be on-site during the inspection if you need us.
OSHA requires annual bloodborne pathogen training (29 CFR 1910.1030) and initial plus annual refresher training for hazard communication. HIPAA requires training at onboarding and periodic refreshers, most auditors expect annual updates. We schedule all of this automatically so nothing lapses.
As of 2026, OSHA penalties are up to $16,550 per serious violation and up to $165,514 per willful or repeat violation. These are per-instance amounts, a single inspection can produce multiple citations. Cal/OSHA can impose additional state-level penalties on top of federal fines.
Yes. California operates under Cal/OSHA, which meets or exceeds federal standards. Key differences include the state-mandated Injury and Illness Prevention Program (IIPP), Cal/OSHA's Aerosol Transmissible Diseases standard (Title 8 §5199), and Medical Waste Management Act requirements enforced by CDPH, none of which have federal equivalents.
Making the Switch
Switching Providers
Already with another provider? We handle the transition so there is zero gap in service.
In most cases, yes. Many Stericycle contracts have auto-renewal clauses, but California law (and several other states) limits enforcement of evergreen service contracts. We review your agreement, identify your cancellation window, and handle the termination letter on your behalf.
No. We coordinate the start date with your current provider's final pickup so there is zero gap in service. Your containers are swapped, staff is trained, and manifests transfer seamlessly, typically within a single business day.
