NETZERO360™ Sustainable Waste Solutions and Christmas in the Park (CITP), San Jose's iconic holiday tradition, announce a Foundational Sustainability Partnership designed to make large-scale community events cleaner, smarter, and more workforce-driven.

The long-term partnership will support Christmas in the Park through 2031, bringing professional sustainability planning, site-wide waste diversion support, and practical community training into an event that reaches more than one million guests each season.

This partnership matters because public events generate more than memories. They create real operational impact: materials to sort, waste streams to manage, volunteers to train, families to educate, and young people who can be introduced to careers in sustainability, safety, compliance, and environmental operations.

As Foundational Sustainability Partner, NETZERO360™ will support Christmas in the Park with waste diversion planning, sustainability consulting, on-site sorting infrastructure, staff and volunteer guidance, and season-by-season recommendations to help recycle and divert more materials from landfill.

The collaboration also expands the reach of Christmas in the Park's "Lighting the Future" initiative by connecting students and community members with practical training opportunities. Planned programming includes CPR/AED/First Aid certification, safety workshops, sustainability education, and NETZERO360™-aligned training designed to introduce participants to real-world career pathways in environmental compliance, public safety, event operations, and community sustainability.

This is not just a sponsorship. It is a working partnership. Christmas in the Park is one of the most visible community traditions in the Bay Area, and that visibility gives us a real opportunity to show sustainability in action. Through NETZERO360™, we can help improve event operations, support diversion, and give young people access to training that can actually move them toward future employment.

Lisa Puckett, Chief Compliance Officer and CEO of NETZERO360™

Ted Lopez, Managing Director of Christmas in the Park, said the partnership strengthens both the event's operations and its community mission.

Christmas in the Park has always been about bringing people together. This partnership allows us to take that mission further by making sustainability more visible, more practical, and more connected to youth development. Through "Lighting the Future," we are building something that can benefit the event, our students, and the broader San Jose community.

The partnership will focus on three core areas

Sustainability in Action

NETZERO360™ will help strengthen site-wide waste diversion practices through planning, sorting support, signage, training, and operational recommendations that can be improved year after year.

Workforce Development

Through "Lighting the Future," students and community participants will gain access to safety and sustainability training that can support internships, employment readiness, and future career pathways.

Community Education

The partnership will create opportunities for families, volunteers, students, and local stakeholders to better understand waste reduction, recycling, diversion, and responsible event operations in a hands-on setting.

By combining Christmas in the Park's deep community reach with Bay Area Compliance's environmental compliance and sustainability expertise, the partnership creates a practical model for how major public events can reduce waste, educate the public, and build future-ready skills at the same time.
